NETcat® Pro 2 Kit

DESCRIPTION

Ethernet, PoE & Cable Wiring Troubleshooter Kit, NC-500 + NC-510 Accessory Kit

The NC-520 from Tempo is the complete NETcat Pro 2 kit that includes everything an IT technician should need to check cables, wiring, Power Over Ethernet (PoE), and network service. Operated using a back-lit touch screen display, the NETcat® Pro2 tests wiring continuity and proper pair allocation, measures the length of cables, determines if network service is available and identifies PoE wiring.

NETcat® Pro2 can uniquely test coax or twisted pair jacks from a central location eight (8) at a time. Using a fingertip or the built-in stylus, the screen can be used to control and display a range of tests from fault finding to TDR length measurement. The display can be set to English, Spanish, French, Russian, Ukrainian, or German language.

The NC520 NETcat® Pro 2 kit includes:

  • The Netcat Pro 2 main unit with stylus
  • Removable remote jack and patch lead test and Id unit
  • Twisted pair (modular RJ45 coax(F) and alligator clip test cords
  • Seven additional remote ID and wiremap units, each with both RJ45 and F (male) quick connect plugs
  • Carrying case to hold additional remote units and all accessory cords and adaptors of the NC-500 main kit

OVERVIEW

  • CAT 5 and up cabling (both shielded and unshielded) plus coaxial cables can be tested.
  • Pair tracing tones can be generated and applied to various combinations of wires to aid detection.
  • Test and troubleshoot telephone, data, and coax wiring
  • Detect split pairs, short circuits, broken, and crossed wires
  • Step TDR technology shows length to open or short of all pairs
  • Large icons ensure easy use with your finger too
  • Backlit touch-screen used to control all functions
  • Included stylus slots into main unit
  • Tone generator with four selectable precision frequency tones, compatible with Tempo advanced digital signal processing probes
  • Identifies active network devices on 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet (802.3) networks both half and full duplex.
  • Identifies PoE (source device detection).
  • Memo Pad/reminder feature: stored in non-volatile memory.
  • Field replaceable “F” type connector.
  • Graphical touch screen display with contrast adjustment and backlight.
  • Tests shielded twisted pair (STP), unshielded twisted pair (UTP), and coaxial cables.
  • 0-2,000 foot (600 Meter) cable length via step TDR.
  • Sub-nanosecond resolution ensures this cable verifier is one of the most precise on the market, spotting errors that simple low speed wire-mappers miss.
  • Patch cable and remote jack wire-map and identification using the self-contained "Office-ID/Remote" unit that neatly stores in the bottom of the main unit.
  • Detects shorts, opens, reversed, crossed, and split pairs.
  • Office identification using remote ID units - up to 8 different IDs, one included, seven additional available in NC-510 accessory kit.
  • Troubleshoots and verifies a wide range of networks.
  • Generate four distinct, precision tones for tracing low-loss cables like Cat 5.
  • Compatible with Tempo precision digital probes.
  • Operates on a single 9V battery, with low battery indicator.
