OPTIX AMERICA | Optical Fiber Identifier W/Built-in 10mW VFL | #OFI-28
OPTIX AMERICA | PART #OFI-28
Optical Fiber Identifier W/Built-in 10mW VFL
DESCRIPTION
The Optix America optical fiber identifier with VFL and optical power meter uses macro bending technology to carry out nondestructive tests on the line. Signal direction and approximate power can be detected at any position of singlemode and multimode fibers on 250um, 900um, 2mm, and 3mm diameter fiber cables. The universal adaptor accommodates the cable diameters with no need to replace the block clamp. The built-in 10mW VFL and optical power meter can be used to find the fault point and test the optical power value of the measured optical fiber. The unit also has low battery monitoring function which signals to the user when to change the batteries.Â

Common Questions About Optical Fiber Identifier with VFL and Power Meter
An optical fiber identifier is used to non-destructively identify live fibers, detect signal direction, and estimate optical power without disconnecting the line.
What fiber types and sizes does the OFI-28 support?
The OFI-28 supports single mode and multimode fibers in 250um, 900um, 2mm, and 3mm cable sizes using a universal adapter.
What is the built-in VFL used for?
The built-in 10mW visual fault locator is used to identify breaks, bends, or faults in fiber by emitting visible red light.
Can this tool detect signal direction and tone?
Yes, the OFI-28 detects signal direction, approximate power levels, and tone identification at 270Hz, 1kHz, and 2kHz.
